Academic Statement

My academic courses and research projects are mainly focused in the STEM field. I have an avid interest in chemistry. I took a high school chemistry course my sophomore year, and I was intrigued by basic concepts such as electron configuration, redox reactions, and stoichiometry. This course inspired me to take a college-level chemistry class because of my intellectual curiosity. In addition, I have been fortunate to take an engineering pathway, where I am currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering course. In this pathway, I’ve improved my skills in collaboration and communication. More specifically, I’ve learned CAD modeling, 3-D printing, programming, electrical circuits, and engineering principles. These vast opportunities allowed me to discover my passion: chemical engineering. When I go to college, I plan on majoring in chemical engineering, as I will be able to further expand my knowledge in chemistry and apply that to manage systems and produce sustainable products for society. Aside from engineering, I am interested in pursuing a medical degree. I am aware that both pathways are strenuous and require much dedication, but my desire learn and help others empowers my ambition. I look forward to continuing my education in the STEM field and potentially discover other interests.
